I didn\u2019t plan to go quiet.<\/h3>\n

In fact, if you know me, consistency, presence, and impact are part of how I operate \u2014 not just professionally, but personally.<\/h3>\n

And yet, these past weeks unfolded differently.<\/h3>\n

Buying a new home.<\/h3>\n

A full home refurbishment.<\/h3>\n

Packing up an old life.<\/h3>\n

Moving into a new one.<\/h3>\n

Setting everything up again from scratch.<\/h3>\n

All while continuing client work, caring for my children, running a household, managing logistics, and keeping life moving.<\/h3>\n

On paper, I was coping.<\/h3>\n

In reality, something important slipped away.<\/h3>\n

\ud835\udde0\ud835\uddf2.<\/h3>\n

The gym disappeared first.<\/h3>\n

Then walks.<\/h3>\n

Then time with friends.<\/h3>\n

Meals became functional, not nourishing.<\/h3>\n

Family visits were postponed.<\/h3>\n

Connection was deferred to \u201cwhen things calm down.\u201d<\/h3>\n

This wasn\u2019t dramatic.<\/h3>\n

It was subtle.<\/h3>\n

And that\u2019s what makes it dangerous.<\/h3>\n

As leaders \u2014 especially high-performing ones \u2014 we\u2019re incredibly good at\u00a0justifying\u00a0temporary sacrifices.<\/h3>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s only for a few weeks.\u201d<\/h3>\n

\u201cOnce this is done, I\u2019ll get back to myself.\u201d<\/h3>\n

\u201cThis is what commitment looks like.\u201d<\/h3>\n

And yet, some of the most influential leaders I\u2019ve worked with over the years have warned me about exactly this:<\/h3>\n

\ud835\uddec\ud835\uddfc\ud835\ude02 \ud835\uddf0\ud835\uddee\ud835\uddfb \ud835\uddfc\ud835\uddfb\ud835\uddf9\ud835\ude06 \ud835\ude01\ud835\uddff\ud835\ude02\ud835\uddf9\ud835\ude06 \ud835\uddf3\ud835\uddfc\ud835\uddf0\ud835\ude02\ud835\ude00 \ud835\uddfc\ud835\uddfb \ud835\ude00\ud835\uddfc \ud835\uddfa\ud835\uddee\ud835\uddfb\ud835\ude06 \ud835\uddf1\ud835\uddfc\ud835\uddfa\ud835\uddee\ud835\uddf6\ud835\uddfb\ud835\ude00 \ud835\uddee\ud835\ude01 \ud835\uddfc\ud835\uddfb\ud835\uddf0\ud835\uddf2.<\/h3>\n

When too many areas demand attention, something has to give.<\/h3>\n

And too often, we choose the same thing to let go of:<\/h3>\n

Our bodies<\/h3>\n

Our relationships<\/h3>\n

Our inner life<\/h3>\n

Our sense of ease<\/h3>\n

What struck me most during this period wasn\u2019t exhaustion \u2014 it was\u00a0disconnection.<\/h3>\n

From my body.<\/h3>\n

From joy.<\/h3>\n

From the parts of leadership that feel expansive rather than heavy.<\/h3>\n

That\u2019s when the deeper lesson landed.<\/h3>\n

\ud835\udde6\ud835\uddf2\ud835\uddf9\ud835\uddf3-\ud835\uddf0\ud835\uddee\ud835\uddff\ud835\uddf2 \ud835\uddf6\ud835\ude00\ud835\uddfb\u2019\ud835\ude01 \ud835\uddf6\ud835\uddfb\ud835\uddf1\ud835\ude02\ud835\uddf9\ud835\uddf4\ud835\uddf2\ud835\uddfb\ud835\ude01. \ud835\udddc\ud835\ude01\u2019\ud835\ude00 \ud835\ude00\ud835\ude01\ud835\uddff\ud835\uddee\ud835\ude01\ud835\uddf2\ud835\uddf4\ud835\uddf6\ud835\uddf0.<\/h3>\n

\ud835\uddd6\ud835\uddfc\ud835\uddfb\ud835\uddfb\ud835\uddf2\ud835\uddf0\ud835\ude01\ud835\uddf6\ud835\uddfc\ud835\uddfb \ud835\uddf6\ud835\ude00\ud835\uddfb\u2019\ud835\ude01 \ud835\uddfc\ud835\uddfd\ud835\ude01\ud835\uddf6\ud835\uddfc\ud835\uddfb\ud835\uddee\ud835\uddf9. \ud835\udddc\ud835\ude01\u2019\ud835\ude00 \ud835\uddf2\ud835\ude00\ud835\ude00\ud835\uddf2\ud835\uddfb\ud835\ude01\ud835\uddf6\ud835\uddee\ud835\uddf9.<\/h3>\n

When we remove them, leadership doesn\u2019t collapse immediately \u2014 it quietly erodes.<\/h3>\n

Clarity becomes effortful.<\/h3>\n

Presence becomes thin.<\/h3>\n

Decisions feel heavier.<\/h3>\n

And the very impact we\u2019re trying to protect starts to cost us more than it should.<\/h3>\n

Here\u2019s what I’ve learned:<\/h3>\n

\ud835\udddf\ud835\uddf2\ud835\uddee\ud835\uddf1\ud835\uddf2\ud835\uddff\ud835\ude00\ud835\uddf5\ud835\uddf6\ud835\uddfd \ud835\uddf1\ud835\uddfc\ud835\uddf2\ud835\ude00\ud835\uddfb\u2019\ud835\ude01 \ud835\uddef\ud835\uddff\ud835\uddf2\ud835\uddee\ud835\uddf8 \ud835\ude04\ud835\uddf5\ud835\uddf2\ud835\uddfb \ud835\ude06\ud835\uddfc\ud835\ude02 \ud835\uddff\ud835\uddf2\ud835\ude00\ud835\ude01.<\/h3>\n

\ud835\udddc\ud835\ude01 \ud835\uddef\ud835\uddff\ud835\uddf2\ud835\uddee\ud835\uddf8\ud835\ude00 \ud835\ude04\ud835\uddf5\ud835\uddf2\ud835\uddfb \ud835\ude06\ud835\uddfc\ud835\ude02 \ud835\uddf1\ud835\uddfc\ud835\uddfb\u2019\ud835\ude01.<\/h3>\n

This experience reminded me that high performance without replenishment always sends an invoice \u2014 and it\u2019s usually paid in energy, health, or relationships.<\/h3>\n

So this isn\u2019t a confession.<\/h3>\n

It\u2019s a recalibration.<\/h3>\n

A conscious return to what sustains leadership over the long term:<\/h3>\n

Movement<\/h3>\n

Nourishment<\/h3>\n

Friendship<\/h3>\n

Family<\/h3>\n

Space<\/h3>\n

Stillness<\/h3>\n

What have you been postponing in the name of \u201cjust getting through this phase\u201d? And what would shift if you chose to protect it now \u2014 not later?<\/h3>\n
