I mean the kind of tired that lingers in your bones\u2014the kind that no longer feels like a phase, but a new way of existing.<\/h3>\n<h3 data-start=\"904\" data-end=\"1002\">I speak with leaders around the world every week, and here&#8217;s the pattern I\u2019m seeing far too often:<\/h3>\n<h3 data-start=\"1004\" data-end=\"1124\">Smart, driven, purpose-led professionals are quietly burning out.<br data-start=\"1069\" data-end=\"1072\" \/>And no one\u2019s talking about it\u2014at least not out loud.<\/h3>\n<h3 data-start=\"1126\" data-end=\"1130\">Why?<\/h3>\n<h3 data-start=\"1132\" data-end=\"1321\">Because many of them were taught to push through.<br data-start=\"1181\" data-end=\"1184\" \/>To wear \u201cresilience\u201d like a badge of honour.<br data-start=\"1228\" data-end=\"1231\" \/>To show up no matter what it costs.<br data-start=\"1266\" data-end=\"1269\" \/>To keep smiling, even when they\u2019re running on empty.<\/h3>\n<h3 data-start=\"1323\" data-end=\"1387\">But here\u2019s the hard truth:<br data-start=\"1349\" data-end=\"1352\" \/><strong data-start=\"1352\" data-end=\"1387\">Resilience is no longer enough.<\/strong><\/h3>\n<h3 data-start=\"1394\" data-end=\"1434\"><\/h3>\n<h2 data-start=\"1394\" data-end=\"1434\">The Myth of Resilience Is Breaking<\/h2>\n<h3 data-start=\"1436\" data-end=\"1624\">For years, we\u2019ve romanticized resilience in leadership culture. We\u2019ve held it up as the ultimate trait\u2014the thing that separates the strong from the weak, the successful from the scattered.<\/h3>\n<h3 data-start=\"1626\" data-end=\"1684\">But we\u2019ve misunderstood what resilience is supposed to be.<\/h3>\n<h3 data-start=\"1686\" data-end=\"1873\"><strong data-start=\"1686\" data-end=\"1747\">Resilience is not the ability to endure endless pressure.<\/strong><br data-start=\"1747\" data-end=\"1750\" \/>It\u2019s not a free pass to ignore your limits.<br data-start=\"1793\" data-end=\"1796\" \/>It\u2019s not a coping mechanism for broken systems or unsustainable expectations.<\/h3>\n<h3 data-start=\"1875\" data-end=\"2060\">True resilience isn\u2019t about how long you can keep going.<br data-start=\"1931\" data-end=\"1934\" \/>It\u2019s about knowing when to stop.<br data-start=\"1966\" data-end=\"1969\" \/>To pause.<br data-start=\"1978\" data-end=\"1981\" \/>To recalibrate.<br data-start=\"1996\" data-end=\"1999\" \/>To rest\u2014not as an afterthought, but as a leadership strategy.<\/h3>\n<h3 data-start=\"2067\" data-end=\"2095\"><\/h3>\n<h2 data-start=\"2067\" data-end=\"2095\">Burnout Has a New Face<\/h2>\n<h3 data-start=\"2097\" data-end=\"2253\">Burnout today isn\u2019t just about overwork. It\u2019s more subtle\u2014and more dangerous.<br data-start=\"2174\" data-end=\"2177\" \/>It shows up in ways that are easy to dismiss but deeply corrosive over time:<\/h3>\n<ul data-start=\"2255\" data-end=\"2525\">\n<li data-start=\"2255\" data-end=\"2308\">\n<h3 data-start=\"2257\" data-end=\"2308\">A low hum of exhaustion, even after a weekend off<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2309\" data-end=\"2363\">\n<h3 data-start=\"2311\" data-end=\"2363\">Losing the spark for work that used to inspire you<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2364\" data-end=\"2426\">\n<h3 data-start=\"2366\" data-end=\"2426\">Brain fog, lack of creativity, reduced emotional bandwidth<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2427\" data-end=\"2461\">\n<h3 data-start=\"2429\" data-end=\"2461\">Snapping at people you respect<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2462\" data-end=\"2525\">\n<h3 data-start=\"2464\" data-end=\"2525\">Feeling disconnected from your purpose, even while performing<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 data-start=\"2527\" data-end=\"2670\">And the problem? Most high-achievers are too committed to admit they\u2019re struggling. They keep performing. They keep pushing. They keep smiling.<\/h3>\n<h3 data-start=\"2672\" data-end=\"2694\">Until something gives.<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"2701\" data-end=\"2760\">Leaders Are Hitting the Wall\u2014And Not Talking About It<\/h2>\n<h3 data-start=\"2762\" data-end=\"2964\">A recent Deloitte study revealed that <strong data-start=\"2800\" data-end=\"2853\">59% of senior executives report feeling exhausted<\/strong>, and nearly 70% say they\u2019re seriously considering leaving their current roles for health or lifestyle reasons.<\/h3>\n<h3 data-start=\"2966\" data-end=\"3083\">And yet, we continue to train leaders to \u201cbounce back\u201d instead of building systems that allow them to <strong data-start=\"3068\" data-end=\"3082\">stay whole<\/strong>.<\/h3>\n<h3 data-start=\"3085\" data-end=\"3172\">This isn&#8217;t a soft topic. It\u2019s a performance issue. A retention issue. A cultural issue.<\/h3>\n<h3 data-start=\"3174\" data-end=\"3358\">Because when we normalize overextension, we undermine excellence.<br data-start=\"3239\" data-end=\"3242\" \/>When we glorify grind, we destroy the very capacity that leadership requires: energy, clarity, presence, and vision.<\/h3>\n<h3 data-start=\"3365\" data-end=\"3408\"><\/h3>\n<h2 data-start=\"3365\" data-end=\"3408\">The Problem with Just Being Resilient<\/h2>\n<h3 data-start=\"3410\" data-end=\"3445\">Resilience, by itself, is reactive.<\/h3>\n<h3 data-start=\"3447\" data-end=\"3660\">It kicks in when things go wrong. It helps you survive the storm.<br data-start=\"3512\" data-end=\"3515\" \/>But it doesn\u2019t <strong data-start=\"3530\" data-end=\"3541\">prevent<\/strong> burnout.<br data-start=\"3550\" data-end=\"3553\" \/>It doesn\u2019t create margin.<br data-start=\"3578\" data-end=\"3581\" \/>It doesn\u2019t help you <em data-start=\"3601\" data-end=\"3612\">feel well<\/em>\u2014it helps you <em data-start=\"3626\" data-end=\"3660\">function despite not being well.<\/em><\/h3>\n<h3 data-start=\"3662\" data-end=\"3738\">And functioning through dysfunction?<br data-start=\"3698\" data-end=\"3701\" \/>That\u2019s not strength. That\u2019s survival.<\/h3>\n<h3 data-start=\"3740\" data-end=\"3810\">What we need is a new leadership model\u2014one rooted in <strong data-start=\"3793\" data-end=\"3809\">regeneration<\/strong>.<\/h3>\n<h3 data-start=\"3817\" data-end=\"3866\"><\/h3>\n<h2 data-start=\"3817\" data-end=\"3866\">Regenerative Leadership: The Next Evolution<\/h2>\n<h3 data-start=\"3868\" data-end=\"4101\">Regenerative leadership doesn\u2019t ask, \u201cHow can I endure more?\u201d<br data-start=\"3929\" data-end=\"3932\" \/>It asks:<br data-start=\"3940\" data-end=\"3943\" \/><span data-start=\"3946\" data-end=\"4004\">* <\/span><em data-start=\"3946\" data-end=\"4004\">What do I need to stay well, lead well, and last longer?<\/em><br data-start=\"4004\" data-end=\"4007\" \/>* <em data-start=\"4010\" data-end=\"4101\">What rhythms, rituals, and boundaries support my highest contribution\u2014not just my output?<\/em><\/h3>\n<h3 data-start=\"4103\" data-end=\"4151\"><\/h3>\n<h3 data-start=\"4103\" data-end=\"4151\">Here\u2019s what regenerative leaders do differently:<\/h3>\n<h3 data-start=\"4153\" data-end=\"4195\"><strong>1. They pause before they break. <\/strong>They recognize when their nervous system is in overdrive and choose to downshift\u2014before burnout takes the wheel.<\/h3>\n<h3 data-start=\"4153\" data-end=\"4195\"><strong>2. They model boundaries, not burnout. <\/strong>They don\u2019t glorify overwork. They model recovery. They say no. They log off. They take real vacations and encourage their teams to do the same.<\/h3>\n<h3 data-start=\"4506\" data-end=\"4559\"><strong>3. They lead with nervous system awareness. <\/strong>They understand how chronic stress impacts decision-making, emotional regulation, and team dynamics. They don\u2019t just manage time\u2014they manage energy.<\/h3>\n<h3 data-start=\"4710\" data-end=\"4762\"><strong>4. They create cultures of care, not fear. <\/strong>They foster environments where people feel safe to speak up, take breaks, and honour their capacity.<\/h3>\n<h3 data-start=\"4865\" data-end=\"4920\"><strong>5. They prioritize presence over performance. <\/strong>Because you can\u2019t be a present leader if you\u2019re an absent human.<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"4992\" data-end=\"5037\"><em>Self-Care Isn\u2019t Selfish. It\u2019s Strategy.<\/em><\/h2>\n<h3 data-start=\"5039\" data-end=\"5121\">I know this phrase gets tossed around a lot, but it\u2019s true\u2014especially for leaders.<\/h3>\n<h3 data-start=\"5123\" data-end=\"5329\">Your clarity, calm, and energy are some of the most <strong data-start=\"5175\" data-end=\"5197\">valuable resources<\/strong> your team has access to. When you lead from exhaustion, you lead from reactivity. When you lead from renewal, you lead from wisdom.<\/h3>\n<h3 data-start=\"5331\" data-end=\"5404\">You can\u2019t pour from an empty cup. But more importantly\u2014you don\u2019t have to.<\/h3>\n<h3 data-start=\"5406\" data-end=\"5581\">The era of heroic leadership is over.<br data-start=\"5443\" data-end=\"5446\" \/>What we need now are <strong data-start=\"5467\" data-end=\"5529\">sustainable, emotionally intelligent, deeply human leaders<\/strong> who know how to take care of themselves and others.<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"5616\" data-end=\"5653\">Take a moment. Ask yourself honestly:<\/h3>\n<ul data-start=\"5655\" data-end=\"5947\">\n<li data-start=\"5655\" data-end=\"5702\">\n<h3 data-start=\"5657\" data-end=\"5702\">Am I leading from alignment\u2026 or adrenaline?<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"5703\" data-end=\"5774\">\n<h3 data-start=\"5705\" data-end=\"5774\">What are the warning signs I\u2019ve been ignoring in my body or energy?<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"5775\" data-end=\"5870\">\n<h3 data-start=\"5777\" data-end=\"5870\">Where do I need to set a boundary\u2014not out of defiance, but out of devotion to my longevity?<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"5871\" data-end=\"5947\">\n<h3 data-start=\"5873\" data-end=\"5947\">What needs to shift so I can lead from <em data-start=\"5912\" data-end=\"5923\">wholeness<\/em> instead of <em data-start=\"5935\" data-end=\"5946\">depletion<\/em>?<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 data-start=\"5954\" data-end=\"6008\">This Isn\u2019t a Luxury\u2014It\u2019s a Leadership Imperative<\/h3>\n<h3 data-start=\"6010\" data-end=\"6193\"><\/h3>\n<h3 data-start=\"6010\" data-end=\"6193\">If you\u2019ve been holding it all together for too long\u2026<br data-start=\"6062\" data-end=\"6065\" \/>If you\u2019ve been praised for your grit but punished for your grace\u2026<br data-start=\"6130\" data-end=\"6133\" \/>If you\u2019ve been admired for your output but aching for space\u2026<\/h3>\n<h3 data-start=\"6195\" data-end=\"6268\">Let this be your permission slip to stop performing, and start restoring.<\/h3>\n<h3 data-start=\"6270\" data-end=\"6373\">Because leadership isn\u2019t about what you <em data-start=\"6310\" data-end=\"6318\">endure<\/em>.<br data-start=\"6319\" data-end=\"6322\" \/>It\u2019s about how you show up when you\u2019re fully alive.<\/h3>\n<h3 data-start=\"6375\" data-end=\"6422\">And that requires rest.
