Happy start of the week everyone!
Today I want to leave you with a tool that I use constantly to help me focus my attention and stay super productive with all things that matter to me.I also use it with pretty much all of my clients. It is a tool created by Stephen R Covey, and it is called the “Circle of Influence”, So, used to show you how to be proactive and affect change by focusing your energies in your own circle of influence.
The good thing about this tool is that it can be used across any domain, no matter how small or large your concern.
Covey says that “The problems all of us face fall in one of three areas: direct control (problems involving our own behavior); indirect control (problems involving other people’s behavior); or no control (problems we can do nothing about, such as our past, or situational realities).”
We have the tendency to underestimate our capacity to influence life, effectively placing things in our Circle of Concern rather than in our Circle of Influence.
So, I have a challenge for you today that will help you shift your focus and overall results this week: Notice where you’re unconsciously giving up your power to affect change by lumping issues into that place “out there” where you think you have no control. Then choose to take whatever actions you can to use your power as effectively as possible. And to make it easier for you, I have created a worksheet (attached in this post) that you can download, work on, and keep somewhere visible to help you stay focused.
Let’s begin our week by making promises to ourselves and keeping commitments to the things that we can do. Make conscious choices to follow through on your desires with action.
¡Por tu éxito!
